I had resisted the fluorocarbon tippet bandwagon personally – for a few reasons. I had always found fluorocarbon tippet to be too stiff and not supple enough for natural presentations. But this Varivas FC tippet has eliminated that concern – it’s definitely more supple than what I have used in the past.
When I’m fishing dry flies and wet flies, I’ll stick with the nylon tippet. But when I’m going to be fishing nymphs I’ll got to the fluorocarbon for the extra density.
Comes with “Resin Coating” and “Non-Stress Coating”. Ultra flexible, superior knot and ablation strength. Usually fluorocarbon is more durable than nylon but too stiff for sensitive tippets. The special coatings give Varivas Fluorocarbon Super Tippet the flexibility they need for fly presentation. Fluorocarbon has almost the same refractive index as water making it virtually invisible to fish.
