A customer of Three Rivers Tenkara mentioned that he had a place in Colorado that he’d like to market as a rental for fly fishers. Well I took a look at his website and thought to myself… “Wow! What a great place!”
The Rusty Spinner Lodge is beautiful and well appointed and located in close proximity to loads of great fishing. If you’re a skier there’s that too.
If you book don’t forget to mention that Anthony from Three Rivers Tenkara sent you their way.
Check out The Rusty Spinner Lodge webpage for all the details.
World-class fly fishing throughout the entire area: There are opportunities everywhere, from major rivers, lakes and reservoirs to small meandering streams, much of it public water.
Located centrally and within striking distance of Antero, Spinney and Elevenmile reservoirs; South and Middle Forks of the South Platte, Elevenmile Canyon, The Dream Stream, Blue River, Upper Arkansas… and more.
The Rusty Spinner Lodge is a custom log home located on two secluded acres in Fairplay, CO.
It has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, so it has plenty of space for multiple families, couples or a guys or gals weekend. It’s a great location for summer and winter activities.

Fully stocked kitchen so you can prepare meals-another affordable vacation option.
Entertainment for everyone – big screen TV, Xbox, books, games and large movie and video game library.
Three bathrooms with five sinks means no fighting for your turn.

The living room area includes a pellet stove for those chilly nights and a pub table and bar for stirring up your favorite cocktail.
South Park is one of the state’s most beautiful designated heritage areas; its scenic beauty is second-to-none. Known for its gold-medal trout waters, South Park is often called the fly-fishing capital of Colorado. With 14,000 foot peaks, abundant wildlife and something for everyone in every season, this area makes for a great home base.
A beautiful two-hour drive from either Denver International Airport or the Colorado Springs airport, this area is in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
Fairplay, an old gold-mining town established in 1859, is a quaint mountain town with its own unique character. Interesting little retail shops, a few watering holes and the extraordinary South Park City Museum makes this a vibrant little community away from the hustle and bustle of the big, busy resorts.
Breckenridge is close enough to enjoy daily but you can retreat to our home in Fairplay nestled among the aspens and Lodgepole pines.
Our home is easily accessible from Highway 9 out of Breckenridge after driving over beautiful Hoosier Pass. This road is well-maintained during the winter since many people employed in Breckenridge call South Park home. The roads off of Highway 9, leading to our home, are dirt and gravel but well-maintained by the county.
Other Summer Activities:
Hiking: from casual walks by a stream to climbing a “fourteener”
Biking: anything from casual cruising on paved bike paths to all-day mountain bike “trail bashing”
Horseback riding, ATVing, Golfing and Kayaking
For the history buffs: Explore the numerous mining and ghost towns in the area, or visit the South Park City Museum to get a real taste of the “Old West”
Camping & backpacking: Pitch a tent on our two acres, or hike one of the numerous trails nearby for a relaxing day trip to more adventurous overnighters in the back country
White water rafting in nearby Buena Vista
Boating: power boats & sailboats on nearby Lake Dillon and Eleven Mile Reservoir
Take a day trip to Steamboat Springs and cap it off with an evening under the stars at the pro rodeo.
